our story
promising farm-to-table freshness since 2014.

The Mason Jar Café was founded with a simple belief: great food starts with honest ingredients and genuine hospitality. Located in the heart of Michigan’s Arts District, the café has become known for its warm atmosphere, scratch-made cooking, and commitment to clean, locally sourced food.
Opened by Jayme Cousins and Abel Martinez in 2014, The Mason Jar Café was built from a passion for health, community, and creating a place where everyone feels welcome at the table. Inspired by Jayme’s personal wellness journey, the café focuses on organic produce, humanely raised meats, scratch made item, and thoughtful options for every kind of eater — from traditional breakfast lovers to vegan and gluten-free guests.
What began as a small neighborhood breakfast spot has grown into one of Southwest Michigan’s favorite brunch destinations, serving elevated comfort food made with intention. From hearty farm-fresh breakfasts and signature sandwiches to handcrafted coffee drinks and house-made pastries, every menu item reflects the café’s dedication to quality and creativity.
More than just a restaurant, The Mason Jar Café is a gathering place rooted in community, connection, and the belief that food should nourish both body and soul.
